Terms of Service

Last updated: July 12, 2026

These are the terms for using Laymin: the site, the free scan, and any subscription you sign up for. We've tried to write them the way we'd explain them out loud. If something's unclear, email andrew@laymin.co and ask.

What Laymin provides

Laymin offers a Free claimed account, monthly Essential website support, and monthly Growth access to eligible supported connections. Availability depends on your website, provider, permissions, and approved use case. Website builds are separate scoped services.

The free scan

The free scan is informational, not a guarantee. Its scores come from a third-party tool, Google PageSpeed Insights, which we don't control. Results can change as that tool changes, and we can't promise a specific score or outcome.

Subscriptions & billing

Essential and Growth are monthly subscriptions. Free is not a paid trial. Paid service starts only after you choose a plan and complete checkout. A starter website begins at the displayed starting price only when the agreed work fits its bounded scope; larger work is quoted separately. An optional nonrenewing month of Essential for website launch support is never added or renewed automatically.

Service email

When you subscribe to Progress for Shops, add a module, or request custom setup work, you're agreeing to get email from us about that purchase: onboarding steps, access requests, and updates on the actual work. That's separate from marketing email, which we never send without asking first.

Your responsibilities

To do this work, we need you to give us accurate information, confirm you have the rights to any site, domain, or content you ask us to work on, and give us timely access when we need it (like DNS or hosting access). Delays on our end are sometimes just us waiting on you.

Acceptable use

The tools we build and run for you are meant for legitimate business use. You agree not to use them for anything unlawful, or in a way that abuses the service or the people it interacts with on your behalf.

Intellectual property

You keep ownership of your business content and your domain. We keep ownership of our own tooling, templates, and processes: the underlying systems we use to build and run your site and AI tools stay ours, even as we use them on your behalf.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

We provide our services "as is," to the extent the law allows. We work hard to get things right, but we can't guarantee a specific business outcome, like a ranking, a booking volume, or an AI search result.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to these services is capped at the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Termination

Either of us can end a subscription at any time. Cancellation is handled by request so we can confirm what should stay live, what billing changes in Stripe, and whether a clean handoff is needed before access or hosting changes. If you cancel, we'll work with you to hand things back cleanly: pointing your domain's DNS wherever you need it to go and returning access to what's yours.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for any change that meaningfully affects you, give you notice.
